Dr. Ali Melhem is board-certified in General Psychiatry, Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, and Addiction Medicine. He is skilled in evaluating and treating the full spectrum of psychiatric disorders, including complex cases where mental health and medical conditions overlap.

With expertise in psychosomatic medicine and substance use treatment, Dr. Melhem specializes in helping patients with co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorders. He earned his medical degree from the American University of Beirut, completed an internship in internal medicine at the American University Hospital, and trained in psychiatry at The Ohio State University Department of Psychiatry.

Dr. Melhem is dedicated to providing patient-centered care that addresses both the mind and body, helping individuals achieve meaningful, lasting recovery.

Dr. Imad Melhem is board-certified in both General and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry. He serves as Chief Clinical Officer for Neurobehavioral Medicine Consultants and as an inpatient psychiatrist and hospital liaison in the greater Saint Clairsville area.

After earning his medical degree from Saint Joseph University in Beirut, Lebanon, Dr. Melhem completed his residency in General Psychiatry at the University of New Mexico and a fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He has published research with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, served on the Diversity Committee at Massachusetts General Hospital, and contributed to the American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry’s continuing medical education programs.

Dr. Melhem’s clinical and research interests include early-onset bipolar and autism spectrum disorders, cultural psychiatry, and the integration of primary care with psychiatric services. At Neurobehavioral Medicine Consultants, he is helping lead patient-centered initiatives that connect advanced treatment with compassionate care.
